I recently bought the Total Control mod kit for my new Oklahoma Joe Highland. I paid more for the Mod than I did for the grill and got it for installation tips as well as for the parts. The parts all look well made and sturdy, however the info and tips for install are quite lacking. The only instructions included are for the self stick gaskets and toggle clamps. The gasket material info was helpful, but suggested using a razor to trim, I found some good scissors work better . The toggle clamp info and materials were lacking. The eight screws were included, the 8 lock washers were not, also the instructions did not mention pilot holes, which I found 9/64 to work well. Also the threaded bolt with the rubber end could use some flat washers next to the nuts due to the design of the spot where the bolt attaches. The fireblack gasket material could also use some info, I put the rtv adhesive around the area I wanted to seal and around the bolt holes, then inserted the bolts through the center of the gasket material. . Not sure if this degrades the gasket but no guidance on it and it seemed the best way to get a good seal. The baffle plate came with hardware but no instructions but there is a youtube video that shows install tips. The rest of the gear looks good and self explanatory. Overall I am happy with the kit, just some suggestions to up the ease the install and provide better quality for this Mod. I had washers on hand and know the screws were not self tapping but others may not have spare parts and drill at hand.
