The charcoal basket is very high quality. It is made of stainless steel and all of the edges are angle iron giving it a lot of strength. The baffle is also of very high quality. I mounted the firebox so only the head of the bolt was in the pit. This let me install the "shaped" piece with a minimal gap. I may drill it at a later date for a tighter fit, but currently this does not seem to be a issue. My temperature spread from left to right is about 20-25 degrees, well within acceptable limits. Give the pit time to warm up to see this temperature differential. The water tray is excellent. It fits well on top of the baffle. All edges nicely finished. The gaskets work extremely well. I have no smoke leaks in any of the joints I sealed. The pit lid seals so well I have decided to not install the clamps. Make sure you use RTV between the firebox and the pit. The gauges are very accurate. I tested them against a calibrated electronic thermometer. I highly recommend this kit if you have an Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn. With the pit and firebox sealed up, the burn is clean. We have smoke ribs and meatloaf and they came out much better than our previous smoker that we have used for years.
