The Perfect solution for quick access to the charcoal, water pan, pinwheel damper, second grate etc. featuring a tight seal with FireBlack® gaskets. This door also GREATLY improves efficiency & burn time. It reduces temp spikes and fluctuation, and also keeps the wpmSM running at much lower max temps, then a WSM that uses the factory door. This Mod along with the FireDial™ for WSM, resulted in a 20 hour cook on one load, and held rock steady at 250F with no need for a electronic controller. (We had to regroup and push the coals inwards at the 14 hour mark, that was all).

    Had a really hard time finding a replacement for the flimsy tin door, I have an old WSM from 2001 so finding parts isnt easy, this upgraded door fit perfectly and seals perfectly, I recommend it as an immediate upgrade to anyones weber smokey mountain! Easy install and the gaskets and RTV that come with it are more than enough to make it seal properly, if your door doesnt seal, it's the smoker and not the door, its built very well.

    Easy installation. A must have mod for the WSM 18". Sealed and painted before use. Tested with no smoke leaks around the door and flange.

    Overall high quality item, but I had to fill a 1/4" gap along the top, and an 1/8" gap along the bottom of the entire assembly with the included black RTV (which is not made to fill such voids). I feel this amount of gap is wildly excessive, and I'm not entirely sure I recieved the correct size door. We'll see how the RTV holds up long-term, but it definitely looks Busch League. Lastly, the inside striker bolt is near impossible to run down with any standard socket or wrench, tell me I am not the only one noticing this? Literally stopped a few times and considered grinding down an already thin-walled socket to end the suffering of a 1/4 turn a minute with an open ended wrench. PROVIDE A SMALLER BOLT HEAD PLEASE!

    ****MANUFACTURER'S NOTE:**** This item sits perfectly flush (as seen in product picks) on most WSM. Its is common that WSM cookers can be a little "egg" Shaped directly from weber. Toc check this, use a ruler and measure the diameter in a few spots. When they are egg shaped, you can get a 1/8" to 1/4" gap. Please note we include LavaLock rtv sealer and Fireblack gasket to seal it up. use the rtv sealer on the inside so that you do not see it.
