I purchased these grates, along with the heat management system, water pan, and the box that draws smoke into the stack closer to grate level. I’ve done 3 cooks, and for the life of me couldn’t figure out why everything was cooking so quickly and were burning from the underside. While these grates are really high quality, they also create a ton of radiant heat! I used my laser thermometer and the grate is getting up over 300 deg even though the pit is 250. I replaced these grates with the factory grates and took out the far side of the heat management plate and things seem to be groovin, went from a 7 hour 12 lb Prime brisket to a 12 hr prime brisket.
